Je ne sais pas… J’ai oublie. Le fromage me comprend.
Or something like that. Since I’m going to go through WordPress (wordfest) withdrawal soon, I thought I would try to squeeze in a couple entries… now before I completely lose my mind and later after my mind is focused on what I will forget to take with me in 14 hours.
I have been completely all over the place for the past few days. Start something, put it down… go over there, go over here. I think Illustrator is really getting the better of me. Joan and I are listening to a little latin, a little french… makin’ models and trying to make ourselves sleep on the plane. I am working strictly on under the interstate area and I have to admit that while I have ideas, I’m not really sure where positive they’re going fine. I tried doing some paper folding earlier. I hated it during Cat’s class and I still hate it. I don’t really get it… although after I took some pictures of it, I started to see how it could be changed, so I guess that is a good thing, although I am abandoning it for now to work on something else. I played with some string too. yea.
A thought I had a few days ago (or was that yesterday?) was about turning things upside down. The Zaandstadt Overpass made me think of this – not sure why. Perhaps I thought that some plants on the ceiling of that monstrosity would help it. Anyway, pondering it again as I worked on the models, I thought about the overhead ceiling and how interesting it might be to make the paths on the ceiling… even making the ceiling feel like it should be on the ground. And perhaps the ground could be made to feel like you shouldn’t be able to walk on it, or rather that you are walking in the sky… translucent somehow. It’s just an idea and I might try to make a perspective to check it out… if I ever get to it.
Anyway, these are the model pics so far… works in progress for sure. I really like the smaller one, which is about horizontals and verticals and creating spaces with heirarchies… or so I say anyway.
And my pretty sound “model”
Back to illustrator!
